That's my happy little prince. :-)


He hasn't falled asleep in the high chair since he was a baby. It happened the other night because he skipped his nap.

Before Earl left, our church was making a new church directory, so we had our pictures made for it. There were so many good poses that I wanted of us and Joey, but they were so expensive! We got a free 8x10 for doing it, and I bought a sheet of wallets that set me back over $40. Crazy. Anyhow, I plan to get more poses soon, on payday. Until then, here are the 2 we have.

I forgot to update on Joey's brains in the last post. He is so smart. He has such good memorizing skills! He can recognize and identify so many letters of the alphebet. Earl first taught him A, E, I, O in the bathtub one night. Since then, he's also learned B, D, H, P, R, S. And those are just the ones he can pick out on his own and know the word too. If you ask him about J, K, L, M, N, T, U, W, Y he can point those out to you. We're working on colors now too. He knows blue well, but sometimes calls other things, like purple, blue when they're not. He knows pink (sorry Earl). He sometimes knows red, green, purple, orange, and yellow.

Earl called from Kuwait a couple days ago. He's doing well. He should be at his final destination by tomorrow (Thurs) at the latest.

Skydiving and Good Byes

We have really loved the past couple weeks, getting so much time with Earl and Angie. Earl was off early everyday this past week and Joey really got used to having him home so much. He'd just stop sometimes whatever he was doing to say "Ma-ma Da-da" and point at us both smiling, like he was just thrilled that we were both home together at the same time.

Me and Angie went skydiving in Washington, NC last monday. Wow, it was awesome! We loved it! We both agreed it was over way too fast.

I went first, so these pics are a little out of order, but here is Ang getting suited up. Oh sorry, I mean, Angela. She prefers Angela now. :-)

Oh, she's going to kill me for posting this, but she was recreating what I did, and we didnt get a picture of what I did, so this will have to do. Basically I just had a hard time fitting in my suit with all my sweats on, so I had to lie down to zip it up. It was funny. I was too lazy to get a bigger suit, I didn't even take my shoes off to put this one on, which caused more problems.

This is at the first skydiving place we went to in Southport, NC, but the clouds got too heavy, so we didn't get to jump. Earl and Joey amused themselves by walking on the airport lines.

Earl's learning to play the harmonica, and Joey apparently already knows how. He's really good, too! (Earl is too--you should hear his rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). :-)

Earl is on his way to Iraq now. And Angie left this morning. She's probably close to Ireland now, on her way to Kuwait, before Iraq. Angie will be back July, Earl returns around halloween, we think. Just like last time. I'm looking forward to beach weather, so me and Joey can kill some time there everyday. Sandrina will be up to visit me this summer, and me and Joey will be in to Asheville lots too, so we'll be staying busy. Not to mention I have a really heavy workload now. My editing jobs have really picked up, so I barely get all my work done as it is.
