HOG rally 2007/Outer Banks Bike Week

Okay, I've got so much to post, and so little time! ;-) this post will be about the rally. We went to the Outer Banks (about 4 hours north of Camp Lejeune) for the 2007 NC HOG (harley owners group) Rally. At the same time, the Outer Banks Bike Week was going on, so we actually were there in two separate events. But anyhow, we rushed up on Friday after Earl got off work. He rode the Harley and me and Joey rode in the Durango. We had a lot of fun on saturday. The weather was a bit overcast and sometimes rainy, but not too bad.

Those two shots were out of my rear view mirror, looking at Earl on his bike. He's so cute.

This is out of my front window, following Earl across one of those masive long bridges that takes you to the islands.

Some bikes we saw.

Joey got a tattoo!!! (It's a Geico Gecko with a motorcycle)

Joey and Earl on Sunday, on our ride home. We stopped at McDonalds to let Joey get out of his seat for a little while.

Joey made soooo many friends there. This lady made him giggle giggle giggle. Joey was the only baby we saw there. There were some kids, but no babies. Everyone that saw Joey in his Harley Do-rag and his biker jacket, and Harley "biker baby" t-shirt just LOVED him! He was like a celebrity. Everyone wanted their pictures with him. He had lots of pictures taken of him. We're hoping some will pop up in the biker magazines that Earl gets.

Earl and Joey checking out some bikes.

He had such an eventful day.

Another one of Joey's friends. They tried to get us to buy a $25 leather vest for him... yeah right.

Earl, for some reason, was really excited about having his and Joey's picture taken with this skeleton.

more bikes.

Joey getting lollipops from another one of his friends.

Pink and Purple motocycle we saw there.

Earl, going across one of those bridges again.

this is the back of Earl, sitting on his bike watching other bikes ride by.

these were our neighbors at the cabins we stayed in (at KOA campground). They recognized us when they saw us at the rally later.

Another friend of Joey's.

Happy boy!

Like father like son.

The pin on the right side of Joey's jacket (his right) is a pin the volunteers from the event gave him.

Indian Larry is a motocycle legend. He died a couple years ago. Earl really liked his bikes. (He built bikes).

It was fun. Glad we went. The next big one is in Sept, in Greenville, SC. We can't wait. Joey will be a walking talking fool by then. ;-)
